Richard F. Ferrucci
President of RFF & Associates, Inc. (‘RFF’)
Richard is one of the leading executives in the surety and construction insurance industry in the United States. His 36 years of executive experience includes the formation and development of the construction divisions within the Aon and Willis organizations. Richard maintains excellent relationships with the senior leaders in the construction industry providing unique risk solutions for our clients. In addition to presiding over RFF, Richard oversees the construction insurance division of T&H Brokers and is a member of its Board of Directors.
In 1976, Richard became President of Frank B. Hall of Long Island. In 1982, he founded and was President of Contractors Planning Group (CPG), where he established its construction practice unit. In 1986, he became Chairman of CPG, a division of Corroon & Black/Willis. In 1992 he joined Aon, as Senior Vice President of Aon Corporation and Chairman of the Construction Services Group, where he was responsible for the establishment of their national construction insurance and surety practice. In 2004, he founded RFF & Associates, Inc., one of the largest independent surety brokerage firms in the U.S.
Richard serves on multiple insurance advisory councils, and is a board member of numerous companies within the construction industry.

Robert F. DiBiase
Senior Vice President
Robert is head of the construction insurance division of the combined RFF / TH brokerage. A skilled financial executive with decades of experience within the insurance industry, he is in charge of program analysis, development and initiation. He brings to the team strong analytic skills, in-depth construction knowledge, solid carrier relationships and unwavering tenacity. He also brings unparalleled experience creating large loss-sensitive programs, and a proven track record of premium savings for clients. These qualities guarantee that each client’s insurance program, regardless of the challenge, runs smoothly and cost-effectively.
Robert began his career in 1991 as an investment executive with Paine Webber. He then held executive positions with Allied North America Insurance Brokerage of New York within the wrap-up, marketing and insurance departments. He is active in the CFMA, Rotary and other charitable organizations.

Gerard S. Macholz
Senior Vice President
Gerard is a Senior Vice President in the Garden City, NY office where he is primarily responsible for managing the daily surety requirements of varying local and national clients. Prior to joining the firm in March 2006, Gerard was a Vice President at Aon Corporation in their Uniondale, NY office and Construction Practice Group for over 12 years. His surety underwriting career began in NYC with The Hartford in 1988 followed by a senior underwriter position at The Fireman’s Fund in 1991 in Melville, NY. Over the years as both an underwriter as well as a broker, Gerard has extensive surety experience ranging from General Contractors/Construction Managers to Heavy/Highway and Civil Contracting Firms to many varied Specialty Trade Contractors. Many current and past construction clients are recognized local market leaders to national firms ranked among the best in their field. Gerard is active in various trade associations including CFMA, AGC and STA. He has also completed a range of CPCI and AFSB courses and has a degree in Business Management and Finance from Baruch College in Manhattan.

Woodrow M. Baird
Senior Vice President
Woody is a Senior Vice President in RFF’s Connecticut office. He focuses on the development of new surety and property/casualty clients as well as assisting in the management of existing client programs. Prior to joining RFF, Woody held the position of Executive Vice President at Colemont Insurance Brokers’ Farmington, CT office. Colemont is a national surplus lines brokerage firm. Woody’s responsibilities included production as well as managing the broker staff and sales function. Prior to that he was the Area Executive Vice President/Branch Manager at Arthur J. Gallagher & Company, in their Hartford, CT office. He was responsible for the performance of the branch, as well as large account production.
Prior to that he held the position of President of Gow & Hanna, Inc. or CT, a privately held retail broker specializing in surety and P&C programs for large construction and transportation related risks. Gow & Hanna, Inc. of CT was acquired by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in 1998. Woody is a 1980 graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, CT with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He began his insurance career at CG/Aetna in their corporate management training program.

Robert T. Pearson
Senior Vice President
Bob has over 20 years experience with a number of major surety carriers, including Reliance, AIG and Fireman’s Fund. Prior to joining RFF in 2003, Bob was New York Region Underwriting manager for St. Paul Surety handling both regional and national construction firms.
At RFF, Bob manages a diversified surety book of business throughout the United States, and is responsible for new business development and the subsequent account management. He is a member of the Subcontractor Trade Association, New York Surety & Fidelity Association and the General Contractors Association among others. Bob is a graduate of St. John’s University with both a Bachelor’s and an MBA degree in Finance.

R. Garth Avery
Senior Vice President
R. Garth Avery has over 30 years of surety bond underwriting and marketing experience. Before joining Richard Ferrucci’s team in 2001, he held the position of Senior Vice President/Chief Underwriting Officer for Liberty Bond Services, a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, for 7 years. Prior to Liberty Bond Services, Garth held senior surety underwriting positions at Cigna Insurance Company and Transamerica Insurance Company. He is currently responsible for the management of the Maryland and Pennsylvania offices of RFF. Garth is a graduate of Ferris State College and attended an advanced management program at Penn State University.

F. Thomas Bean
Senior Vice President
Tom has over 35 years of surety and brokerage experience. Tom has been working with Richard since 1993. His current responsibility is managing a significant portfolio of surety accounts for RFF & Associates, Inc. In addition to this, Tom continues to develop new surety and insurance opportunities.
Prior to joining RFF & Associates he was the bond manager of Cigna’s Long Island Office, the largest bond office of Cigna at that time. He initially started in the business working in the NYC office for Seaboard Surety Company. Tom graduated from St. John’s University’s College of Insurance in 1977 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. He majored in Insurance and his minor was Business. Tom is also a member of several associations including the Long Island Contractors Association, Subcontractors Trade Association, Contractors Financial Management Association and The General Contractors Association.

George O. Brewster
Senior Vice President
George joined RFF in 2008 as Senior Vice President. His primary responsibilities include coordination of the production efforts within RFF and developing new surety, insurance, and benefit opportunities.
Prior to joining RFF & Associates, George was Senior Vice President of Allied North America’s Surety operation. During his 24 years at Allied, he managed a significant book of business, in addition to maintaining the existing client relationships and developed new business. George is a 1977 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. He is a member of several industry associations, including The General Contractor Association, The Surety Underwriters of NY, Construction Industry Council, Subcontractors Trade Association, New York Building Congress, Contractors Financial Management Association and Associated General Contractors.

Russell M. Canterbury
Senior Vice President
Russ joined RFF in 2008 as Senior Vice President. He founded the Connecticut office for the firm to develop the New England Region as well as continuing to build the national presence of RFF. As a member of the leadership team, Russ consults with RFF executives and clients on marketing and strategic matters.
Most recently he served as managing director for Marsh & McLennan’s national surety practice and Northeast region. Russ has held various regional and national roles at Marsh and managed the Northeast surety and construction practices. Prior to joining Marsh in 1991, he held several positions with Willis and Reliance Surety and brings 30 years experience in the surety industry.

David J. DeSoto
Senior Vice President – Risk Management Services
Dave is responsible for bringing risk management services and products to our clients including both traditional risk transfer insurance products, and innovative risk financing, risk avoidance and risk mitigation programs. Clients draw upon his twenty three years construction risk experience in the capacity of an underwriter, a broker and a construction risk manager. Dave outsources risk management services to our clients. These range from consulting on FAR to outsourcing all Risk Management responsibilities.
While at Zurich, Dave was responsible for construction underwriting, where he also was part of the team that developed Subguard. As a broker, he was responsible for the outsourced risk management program of an international contractor with over three billion annual CV. He was also the director of Aon’s CDI/Subguard national practice group. Most recently, Dave was the risk manager for one of the nation’s largest construction firms where, in addition to the customary responsibilities of a construction risk manager, he created an extremely successful non-traditional rolling CCIP and utilized Subguard as a means to develop an overall Subcontractor Management program. Dave earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and History from Colgate University in addition to completing a Business Management program at Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Joseph Dobkowski, Jr.
Senior Vice President
Joe has over 35 years of underwriting and brokerage experience that includes the position of Resident Vice President of the New York Seaboard office, which at the time was the largest operating office of Seaboard. Joe joined Richard in 1989 and has worked with him throughout his career. Joe manages RFF’s New Jersey office. He is involved with the sales and marketing prospective customers and servicing the needs of our existing customers that are handled by the New Jersey office. Joe also participates with our other offices for any of their needs in our goal of providing excellent customer service.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Montclair State College in 1973 and a Master of Arts Degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Economics also from Montclair State in 1981. He is a member of several associations in New Jersey and nationally including the Associated General Contractors/Building Contractors Association of NJ, the Utility and transportation Contractors Association of NJ, and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers.

Peter F. Jones
Senior Vice President
Peter manages RFF’s Florida and South Eastern Property & Casualty operations and has over 30 years of insurance underwriting, brokering and risk management experience. Peter specializes in construction insurance for T&H Brokers. He combines his industry knowledge and experience to provide clients customized insurance programs. Peter’s contacts have proven invaluable when presented with complex insurance opportunities. Peter has worked on numerous national Builder’s Risk and Rolling Wrap-Up projects and programs as well as one of the world’s largest underground hydro-electric undertaking, James Bay Hydro-Electric project.
His career began with AIG including various positions of increasing underwriting and managerial authority during his eleven-year tenure. Prior to RFF & Associates, Peter held positions with The Home Insurance Company, Johnson & Higgins, Aon Corporation, Arthur J. Gallagher & Company and XL Capital. Peter attended York University, in Toronto and studied Business Administration and Economics.

George F. Thompson
Senior Advisor
George joined RFF in 2007 in the Palm Beach Gardens Florida office. His principle duties involve the production of contract surety business both in Florida and on a nationwide basis as well as training our Florida staff in the surety business.
George has over 45 years experience in the surety and insurance industry. He started his career at Seaboard Surety Company where over a 35 year span, held various positions, including President and CEO for the last 15 years there. George was also Chairman of Reliance Specialty and Executive Vice President of Travelers Bond before joining RFF. George received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. John’s University and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
