Emilio Alfonso
Account Executive
Emilio graduated from Montclair State College in New Jersey with a B.A. in Administration in 1984.
Immediately after graduating, he accepted a position with American Home Products. In 1989 he
began his career in customer service at Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. By the time he left Empire
in 1998, he had been promoted from a customer service consultant to an Account Manager in
their small group area. Emilio joined T&H Benefit’s small group department in 1999 and is currently
responsible for the day to day administration of some small groups (under 50 lives) and all of the
New York State Disability groups handled by T&H Benefits.

Joan Aulet
Assistant Account Executive
Joan is an Assistant Account Executive at T&H Benefits and provides service in support of a team of Account Executives.
She began her profession in Benefits Outsourcing at Benefits Outsourcing Solutions (under the umbrella of T&H Benefits) in 2002 through 2003. There she gained extensive knowledge of Group Cafeteria Plan Section 125 (FSA), through her hands –on involvement with researching and processing of clients’ Medical, Dependent and Transportation expenses.
Joan later spent three years with the Employee Benefits Outsourcing Department, working closely with key large and small group clients. She planned Open Enrollment meetings, processed employees’ enrollments, reconciled client billing, conducted claims research and managed all employees’ weekly and monthly activity reports.
Joan recently transferred from The Benefits Outsourcing Department of T&H Benefits to the Benefits division, where she now works closely with the Senior Account Executives.

Scott Bellin
Senior Account Executive
Scott is a graduate from Syracuse University with a BA in Economics in 1990. Scott began his career in management with Blockbuster Entertainment. In 1996, entered the benefit arena as a Human Resources Generalist with Group Health Incorporated.
Scott joined T&H Benefits, LLC in 1998 as a Sr. Account Executive in the large group market place. In the spring of 1999, he took on the responsibility of managing the Flexible Spending Administration. With the transition of our New Jersey Office in 2000, Scott added the responsibility of managing our COBRA and Billing Administration units. From January 2001 until the sale of Benefit Outsource Solutions, LLC (BOS), our administration company that administered Flexible Spending Accounts, COBRA, Billing, HIPAA and Form 5500 Preparation, in June of 2005, Scott was responsible for of the formation and operations of BOS.
In his current capacity, Scott is responsible for both large and small group account administration.

Josephine Camacho
Senior Account Executive
Josephine joined T&H Benefits in December of 2000 as an Account Executive. She was previously employed at ChannelPoint, Inc. as a Licensing and Compliance Manager. Josephine began her career in 1991 at Prudential Insurance Company of America’s New York Sales Office where she held various positions including Budget and Sales Analyst and Compliance Consultant. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from St. John’s University.

Karin Cieslik
Senior Account Executive
Karin joined T&H Benefits in 2000 and works on several of T&H Benefit’s largest accounts. Karin began her career in 1980 as an Account Manager in Cigna’s National Accounts organization specializing in the management of employee benefit plans for large multi-site clients such as AT&T and ITT.
She left Cigna in 1992 to join Stinnes Corporation as Corporate Benefit Manager where she introduced and implemented a national point-of-service plan to Stinnes and its’ 18 subsidiaries. In 1994, Karin joined Oxford Health Plans as Regional Manager of Account Management Services where she managed a team of service managers and had overall responsibility for Oxford’s entire book-of-business in the state of New Jersey. In early 1998 Karin accepted the position of Manager of Health & Welfare Plans with PaineWebber where she had overall responsibility for the administrative and financial management of all benefits plans for the firm’s 22,000 employees and 300 branch offices.

Terry Folsom
Account Executive
Terry is an Account Executive for T&H Benefits working in the Chicago office. She brings substantial HR experience to the organization, as in her prior work experience she was the Human Resource Manager at Near North Insurance Brokerage from 1990-1994. Terry’s responsibilities included employee benefit program management and administration, recruiting, HR process development and special projects. In 1995 she was employed with TDK Corporation as the Human Resource Manager with similar responsibilities.
Terry transitioned into the Employee Benefits industry in 1996 as an Account Manager with the J.P. Flanagan Corporation, with the company merging with Hub International in 2001. While at Flanagan/Hub, she supported production and retention of small to middle market clientele with a focus in the 25-500 life groups that had multiple lines of coverage. In addition to managing all elements of service, compliance and renewal processes for her clients, Terry was the technology lead for the benefits department. Terry’s experience with her clients included health program development on both fully insured and partial self-funded financial arrangements.
Terry received her Illinois Insurance License in 1996.

Pam Henry
Account Executive
Pam is an Account Executive for T&H Benefits working in the Chicago office. Pam has been in the Employee Benefits industry for 25 years, starting in Houston, TX. Starting her career with a national life insurance carrier, Pam also worked in a general agency system while in Houston, representing several major insurance carriers.
In 1992 Pam moved to Chicago and spent 5 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield, first as a Marketing Representative and then in a Direct Sales role. In 1997 Pam transitioned back to the brokerage side of the business with Mesirow Financial as an Account Manager and then moved to Hub International in 2002.
While at Hub, she supported production and retention of middle market clientele with a focus in the 50-1000 life groups with multiple lines of coverage and multiple locations. Pam’s experience with her clients included health program development on both fully insured and self-funded financial arrangements. In addition to managing all elements of service, compliance and renewal processes for her clients, Pam was promoted to Service Team Manager for the benefits department with hiring & training responsibility for 4 other employees.
Pam earned her IL insurance license in 1994.

Thad Holsberg
Account Executive
Thad Holsberg is a Account Executive at T&H Benefits. Thad graduated from Towson
University in Baltimore, Maryland with a B. S. in Business Administration & Marketing. After
completion of honorable Military service in 1999, Thad joined Oxford Health Plans as a Direct Sales
Account Executive in their Manhattan office. Thad went on to work in sales for Empire Blue Cross
Blue Shield and United Healthcare in their fully insured and self funded markets. After leaving the
carrier side of the employee benefits industry, Thad was a Vice President of Sales and Operations
at a mid-sized employee benefits brokerage in Long Island, New York.

Jim Mauren
Senior Benefits Consultant
Jim has earned a BBA in Marketing from Dowling College and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University. His career in group insurance began 20 years ago as an underwriter at Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. In addition to his technical experience as an underwriter, his experience spans the group insurance spectrum with experience in “home office” client administration with Metlife, to field account management with a large national third party administrator (EBP HealthPlans), as well as experience in account management and department management on the broker side of the market (HUB International). Jim is currently Senior Benefits Consultant with T&H Benefits with the specific expertise of overseeing and managing high profile national accounts from the presentation and dissemination of financial data to managing the fundamental tasks which the “day to day” service of an employee benefit plan so greatly depends.

Bob Maxwell
Senior Account Executive
Bob is a Senior Account Executive for T&H Benefits working in the Chicago Office.
Bob graduated from Illinois Wesleyan and earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University. Bob has been in the Employee Benefits field since 1990 when he began his career at MetLife. At MetLife Bob held both Underwriting and Account Management roles. In 1994 Bob left MetLife and went to work for John Hancock as a Senior Underwriter. In 1996 he began working for HealthCare COMPARE in an Account Management capacity. Bob worked there for 10 years through COMPARE’s acquisition of First Health and subsequent name change to First Health. At First Health, he expanded his role significantly until he became Assistant Vice President of National Accounts. In this role he managed a large team of Account Management professionals and was responsible for a major block of First Health’s business. The clients consisted primarily of multi-sited self funded groups with a national presence.
In addition to his Illinois Insurance License, Bob has his Series 6 and 63 licenses.

Christopher Reynen
Vice President
Christopher is a Vice President of T&H Benefits. Chris received a Bachelor of Science in 1991 from the University of Vermont. He began his insurance brokerage career later that same year as an account manager with T&H Brokers. Chris is licensed by the State of New York in Property and Casualty, while he has Life and Health licenses in both New Jersey and New York.
Chris joined T&H Benefits in December 1997. He started a separate marketing department for T&H Benefits, an entity that was unique among brokerages at that time and still remains novel today. This department provided advantages for the account management personnel to focus more time with their customers and for carriers to work with a consistent source at T&H Benefits for renewals and proposals.
Chris is now responsible for the overall servicing of T&H Benefits largest national, multi-site accounts. He plays a vital role in negotiations and the marketing of various insurance carrier vendors.

Joseph Romano
Senior Account Executive
Joseph has been involved with account management for 20 years with carriers such as The Equitable, Cigna, NYLCare, and Oxford Health Plans. He has worked on National Accounts such as ITT Corporation, Continental Insurance, The Bank of New york and Continental Grain Company.
Joe experienced first hand the transformation of the New York market from indemnity to managed care plans and all the growing pains that came with it. In addition to handling traditionally insured accounts, Joe has managed accounts with alternate funding arrangements such as minimum premium and self-funding.
In addition, Joe managed a team of 10 account managers at Oxford Health Plans servicing groups of 50 lives and above during the Oxford “financial turnaround.” He earned his MBA in Marketing Management from St. John’s University.
Joe has been a Senior Account Executive with T&H Benefits for almost 9 years.

McLee Smith
Senior Account Executive
McLee began his career in employer benefits as an employee of Oxford Health Plans in 1995.
At Oxford, he was involved in Claims, Customer Service, and Account Management. McLee left
Oxford and gained broad experience with a New York employee benefit brokerage firm. He then
spent four (4) years as a Strategic Account Executive with UnitedHealthcare where he negotiated
renewals and partnered with employers and brokers to customize benefit plans for Key Account
employer groups. In May 2006, McLee assumed the role of Senior Account Executive
at T&H Benefits.

Evelyn Afif Stephens, MD
Evelyn Afif Stephens, MD is the Medical Director of T&H Benefits LLC. With both research and clinical experience, Dr. Stephens is responsible for facilitating wellness among our clients. More specifically, Dr. Stephens reviews and studies the most current evidence based medicine to fully understand the most effective wellness solutions available in the workplace today.
Prior to joining T&H Benefits, she was an account coordinator and benefit analyst at USI.. Prior to USI, Dr. Stephens completed her intern year of residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan where she trained in internal medicine, neurology and psychiatry. Dr. Stephens graduated from New York Medical College in 2004. During medical school she was awarded a research grant and worked in the lab of Dr. Paul Lucas, investigating stem cell potential of osteosarcoma cells. She published and presented her research at a peer-reviewed symposium at New York Medical College. Dr. Stephens was also the Vice President of the Boricua Latino Health Organization, a medical student run charitable trust.
Prior to medical school Dr. Stephens worked at in the Development Biology Lab at Weill Medical College under the direction of Dr. Jeanette Hyer and Dr. Takashi Mikawa where she studied the development of the eye. This research was published in a peer-reviewed journal, Developmental Biology. Dr. Stephens also taught physics, chemistry and pre-calculus to junior and seniors in high school for a year between medical school and college.
Dr. Stephens attended the University of Richmond and graduated with a bachelor in science, a major in biology and a minor in Spanish. She graduated Magna cum laude with departmental honors in biology. She is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Tri-Beta Biology Honors Society. During college, Dr. Stephens was awarded both the John N. Dickenson Smart-Summer Research Award and the Undergraduate Research Committee Grant. She studied heat shock protein synthesis and had was published in Journal of Experimental Zoology. She also presented her research at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research and at a University of Richmond peer-reviewed symposium. Dr. Stephens is fluent in Spanish.

Carol Stoklosa
Assistant Account Executive
Carol joined T&H Benefits as an Assistant Account Executive. Most recently, Carol was Human Capital Manager, Midwest Region with Navigant Consulting, supporting four Chicago offices and a territory in the Midwest. Previously, she was a Human Resources Specialist with Apropos Technology, providing support to over 100 employees in benefits administration, HRIS support and COBRA administration.
Carol has her certification as a Professional in Human Resources and brings a valuable source of knowledge in benefits administration.

Jaime Wilkie
Account Executive
Jaime is an Account Executive with T&H Benefits. He has been in the
health insurance field since 1998 when he joined Aetna as an administrative assistant in their
National Accounts Department. He worked on large accounts which included American Express,
Viacom and USA Networks. Jaime joined the T&H benefits Account Management Team in 2001 as an
Administrative Assistant. He works with the Account Executives on the day-to-day administration
of their accounts. Jaime got his background in administrative work from the Military where
he completed an administrative clerks course in 1994.

Christina Butler
Group Financial Analyst
Christina Butler is a Group Financial Analyst at T&H Benefits. Christina has been with T&H Benefits since 2009.
Prior to joining T&H Benefits, Christina was a Corporate Retirement Specialist at AXA Equitable in their Corporate Markets division where she provided financial planning solutions to Fortune 1000 corporations and their employees at every stage of the retirement planning process.
Christina graduated from Binghamton University in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Italian and a Minor in Business Management. In addition, she holds Life, Health and Variable Insurance licenses in the State of New York and is FINRA Series 7 & 63 licensed.

Bryan Covey
Group Financial Analyst
Bryan graduated from the University of Scranton in 2000 with a degree in Economics. Upon graduation Bryan began his career with Hartford Life as a Service Specialist in the Retirement Plan Service Center at the World Headquarters in Connecticut. In 2001, Bryan joined the Retirement Planning Services division of T&H Benefits where he held a position with many responsibilities. These responsibilities included account implementation and management, marketing, sales and employee education meetings. After six years in the retirement industry, Bryan has taken on a new challenge by joining the Financial Services Team as a Financial Executive. His role in this position is to gather renewal data for T&H Benefits’s book of business and prepare the Group Benefits Analysis for review by the clients.

David Holceker
Senior Financial Analyst
David joined T&H Benefits in July of 2003 as Senior Financial Analyst. He graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Mathematics. David has over twenty five years of underwriting experience in the health and ancillary industry. His underwriting career began in 1976, working for Equitable Life Insurance Co. During his career he worked for Home Life Insurance, Metropolitan Life, Prudential Healthcare, NJ and Empire BCBS. In his most current position, David worked for Prudential Financial as a Senior Level Group Underwriter, where he serviced all of the mid market size groups for the Mid-West region.
During his twenty five plus years of service, David performed many functions such as supervisory and managerial roles, visited clients and brokers, trained underwriters and account managers, developed underwriting tools, implemented a functional business plan for union and public sector groups, provided support to the sales organizations and successfully transitioned PHC’s membership to Aetna’s platform.

Kevin Lynch
Senior Financial Executive
Kevin Lynch is a Senior Financial Executive at T&H Benefits. He Graduated from the University of Delaware in 1999. He began his benefits career that same year as a Retirement Specialist with Sun America. In 2000 he joined Citigroup as a Global Investment Bank Business Analyst. After two years with Citigroup, Kevin joined T&H Benefits in 2002 as a Financial Executive on the Financial Services Team. Kevin handles the renewals and preparation of the group benefit analyses for groups under 200 employees in size.

Ender Tavsanli
Managing Financial Executive
Ender Tavsanli is a Managing Financial Executive at T&H Benefits. He received his bachelor degree in economics from the University of Istanbul in 1989 and his MBA degree in Management from New York Institute of Technology in 1997. Before joining the T&H Benefits Team in 1999, he held a position at the United Nations and owned and operated a small business.
Ender has responsibility for managing the overall financial details of T&H Benefit’s largest clients. His duties include rate analysis, contribution strategies, benefit comparisons and generation of the Group Benefit Analysis.

Marie Urina
Group Financial Analyst
Marie Urina is a Group Financial Analyst in our Financial Services division. Marie has been with T&H Benefits since November of 2004.
Marie Urina graduated from Bernard Baruch College with a B.A. Degree in Human Resources Management. She began her Human Resources career at The Durst Organization, Inc. in 1999 as a Human Resources Coordinator where she administered various benefit programs and liaised with benefit providers (as well working with the Director of HR on facilitating various HR programs and procedures).

James Anderson
Vice President
James is a Vice President at T&H Benefits. He has been with T&H Benefits since its inception. Prior to T&H Benefits, Jim was a Senior Account Executive in the employee benefits division of Tanenbaum-Harber Co., Inc.
Jim understands that to be successful you must provide the most competitive program and provide added services to remain competitive in the industry.
Jim graduated Binghamton University in New York with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management. He furthered his studies by attaining the designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) from the Wharton School of Business. In addition, he is securities licensed in the State of New York and is a member of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists.

Joseph (Jay) Coughlin
Senior Vice President
Jay is a Senior Vice President of T&H Benefits. He entered the employee benefits field in 1973 when he joined the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in their New York Group sales office. He became the manager of John Hancock’s New York sales office in 1988. Jay left John Hancock in 1994 to join EBP HealthPlans. From 1994 until 1996, he was Vice President of Sales for EBP’s Northeast Division with sales and management responsibility for eight sales offices.
In 1996, he became Vice President of Sales for the Mid-Atlantic region of The TPA (now Benesight), a national third-party administrator currently a FiServ Company. His responsibilities included the establishment of a regional sales office and business development in his territory. Jay joined T&H Benefits in April 1999 as a result of the Reynen Associates acquisition. Jay is the Senior Vice President of the operation and is responsible for new and existing business, as well as the daily functions of the New Jersey facility.

Mark Leeds
Vice President
Mark is Vice President of T&H Benefits. At T&H Benefits, Mark leads our initiative in worksite marketing. In addition, he is responsible for new business development. Mark has over 19 years experience in the employee benefits area. He has served in various sales and management roles at some of the leading insurance companies in the industry. In addition, Mark served as a regional vice president of an employee benefits technology start-up, BenefitPoint.
Mark holds an M.B.A. in marketing from The Stern School of Business of New York University and a B.A. degree in economics from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.

Trent Orr
Sales Executive
Trent joined T&H Benefits LLC in August 2007 in the Sales Executive role. As a Sales Executive, he brings over 10 years of experience in both Media and Insurance sales. At T&H Benefits, Trent is responsible for developing new business relationships while providing a full spectrum of benefits solutions to his clientele.
Prior to joining T&H Benefits, Trent was an Account Executive with Hub International, representing all major medical and ancillary insurance carriers for the solicitation and negotiation of group employee benefits packages.
Prior to Hub International, Trent was an Account Executive for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. His time with MetLife included working with the brokerage/ consulting industry on the solicitation and negotiation of Ancillary benefits such as Life, Dental, LTD, STD, 401(k) for employer groups of 1,000 to 25,000 lives.
In 2000, Trent received his Bachelor of Science degree in Media/ Communications from Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri.

C. Nicholas Risom
Senior Vice President
Nick Risom is a Senior Vice President at T&H Benefits, Mr. Risom is responsible for advising clients to help identify, analyze and mitigate corporate and personal risk. His focus is providing risk management and employee benefits consulting services to multinational corporations, law firms, private equity, hedge funds and high net-worth individuals.
Nick’s experience encompasses a broad range of industries including financial services firms, healthcare, manufacturing, not-for-profit, retail and technology.
Prior to joining the firm, he was with Marsh & McLennan Cos. (including Mercer and Kroll) where he focused on corporate risk and employee benefits consulting. Prior to joining Marsh, Nick worked for Kroll, the world’s leading risk consulting company where he worked on a variety of investigations, due diligence, security and crisis management assignments.
Mr. Risom received his M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Lake Forest College.

Robert Sherlock
Senior Vice President
Bob is a Senior Vice President of T&H Benefits. Bob entered the employee benefits field in 1984, immediately following graduation from Harvard University. In 1987, he was named Vice President of Sales and Marketing at W.J. Jones Administrative Services, Inc., a regional health care claims administrator on Long Island.
During the next ten years, Bob steered the company to double-digit annual increases in sales volume, staff, and profitability. In 1992, he was awarded a partnership in the firm. In 1993, Bob managed the introduction of Select Providers, Inc. (Select PRO), an affiliated PPO In the metropolitan area. In 1997, he was named the President of the company, responsible for three regional offices and more than 200 employees. In 1998, W.J. Jones was acquired by USI Insurance Services Corporation. Together with other entities, USI Administrators was formed. Bob was named Northeast Regional President and CEO of USIA, USI’s largest regional unit.
Bob has earned the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation, as well as the N.Y. State Health Insurance Adjustor license. He serves on the Board of numerous community and not-for-profit agencies, and is President of the Harvard Club of Long Island.

Gabriel B. Silver
Sales Executive
Gabe is a Sales Executive at T&H Benefits. With over seven years of experience in the employee benefits industry, Gabe is responsible for developing new client relationships and providing a complete spectrum of benefits consulting services to existing clientele.
Prior to joining T&H Benefits in 2008, Gabe served in various sales and management roles at two other regional insurance brokerage firms.
Gabe received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He currently resides in New York City.

Dawn Maggiulli
Director Outsourcing Services
Dawn Maggiulli is an Account Executive with T&H Benefits. Dawn has been in the employee benefits field for 18 years, which has provided her with an extremely diversified background in employee benefits.
Prior to joining T&H Benefits, Dawn held a position as an Account Executive for a National Third Party Administrator. She was responsible for the servicing of a large block of self insured business, working with and supervising a team of Account Managers. Dawn also previously held a position at a large Long Island Brokerage Firm as a Senior Account Executive for a large group client base. The Account Executive position entailed coordinating employee meetings, facilitating client presentations, renewal and marketing analysis and daily contact with clients.
